On the Friday the 2nd of September, 2022, my new radio show, Never Mind The Sonnets, will air on Northern Quarter Radio. The show is a blend of eclectic music (Punk/Indie and Alternative) with dashes of poetry and spoken word added into the mix.
Never Mind The Sonnets will broadcast from 10pm – 11pm (GMT) on the 2nd, and new shows will be added every fortnight. Don’t worry if you can’t listen on that date, shows will be repeated on the station at regular intervals during the two weeks. You can check the station’s schedule for more information.
Never Mind The Sonnets has been a few years in the making. It started life as a fifteen minute slot, each Monday afternoon, on a local radio station, and ran for eighteen months. I spend most of my days writing and listening to music and this is a wonderful opportunity to share the music and words I encounter on a daily basis. The focus will be to explore the stories behind the songs and poems / prose, as well as the backstories of the writers who created them.
One of my hopes for the show is that I can feature some of the great writers who I read and connect with on a regular basis through this blog, and on other social media platforms. If anyone is interested in getting involved, and would like to have their work featured, then please get in touch.
